McAndrew reacts to Stanford change

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West three-star weakside defensive end Tom McAndrew (6-foot-5, 235) was disappointed but not overwhelmed at the news that Stanford fired head coach Buddy Teevens on Monday.
“I had heard some rumblings about a possible coaching change,” McAndrew said. “I'm disappointed that Coach Teevens was fired and I feel bad for him and his family.”

McAndrew talked about his current thoughts on Stanford and his recruiting situation.
“As far as Stanford is concerned, I have no different feelings at this point. I'm still committed to Stanford. I guess I'm more anxious to see how things shake out and who is hired. I have my official visit set for January 14th, so hopefully they will have hired a new head coach and staff by then. In the meantime, I'll be watching and waiting to see who gets the job.
McAndrew's phone has already begun to ring as of Monday night.
“I've received a few calls already, but I've been pretty busy with school and basketball, so I didn't really talk to anyone yet. My Dad has been handling the phone calls today. I'm still solid on Stanford for now.”
