McAndrew enjoyed his weekend escape

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) three-star weakside defensive end Tom McAndrew (6-foot-5, 235) has plenty of skills that translate well on the field, but McAndrew would never be called elusive. Yet McAndrew was as elusive as he's ever been as he headed last Thursday to Stanford for his official visit. Elusive? McAndrew explains.
"From a travel standpoint I was definitely elusive," McAndrew said. "I flew out of O'Hare on Thursday afternoon, and I noticed that we started to get a few snow flurries as we took off. When I called back home on Saturday morning I heard that we got over a foot of snow. I felt really bad for everyone back home, really I did."

McAndrew has basically nothing but good things to report from his official visit to Stanford.
"Geez, where do I start? How about the weather. 60 plus degrees and sunny all weekend. I really had a good time at Stanford. Everything was really good all weekend long, from the hospitality to the meetings and the campus tours and events. I was really impressed with some of the behind the scenes stuff, like the training rooms and I also got a more in depth tours and a better understanding of everything surrounding the football program."
McAndrew noted a few things that really stood out on his weekend visit.
"I was really impressed with the guys on the team. They are really a tight group and they all seem to get along really well with each other off the field. I also was glad that I had a chance to talk with the coaches and to get to know them better. Also the campus itself is just ridiculous. I just love being on that campus."
"I'm really looking forward to signing day, and I also know that I'll be well taken care of at Stanford."
