Mays puts doubts to rest

If there were any doubters out there about Vincent Mays of Sacramento’s Johnson high school, Mays wants to put them to rest.
“If any critic would have seen our last game, it would have shut them up,” Mays, who is rated the No. 12 safety prospect in the country by Rivals100 and a four-star prospect, said. “I had my best game of the year.”

Mays starts as a running back and safety for Johnson. He rushed for 203 yards and one touchdown on 29 carries last week against Carmichael Jesuit. He also made 11 tackles, including four for losses.
“All four of my hits in the backfield were ‘Big Hits’ according to my coach. They even showed one of them on the news. I just blew him up.”
Mays has scheduled one official, to San Diego State for Dec. 7. Tennessee is in the process of being set up for Dec. 14.
Mays says he really likes the Volunteers but his high school coaches have yet to get his senior film to the Vols so that they can finalize getting him set up for an official visit.
San Diego State has already offered him a scholarship.
Mays says Washington, Oregon, Fresno State, Arizona and Arizona State have also offered him a scholarship and he is considering all of those schools for a possible official visit.
