Mayo continues to stay busy

Defensive back Devin Mayo of Reisterstown (Md.) Franklin is a name that college recruiters have already known about for a couple of years. While he waits for his first offer, the interest levels continue to increase, and his schedule remains busy.
"Everything is going fine for me," said Mayo, who is 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. "Rutgers, Maryland, Penn State and East Carolina have been showing me the most interest recently."

During the fall Mayo took visits to both Maryland and Penn State for games, and then in January he followed that up with a junior day visit to Rutgers.
"I really like the way things are being run at Rutgers," said Mayo. "I also like all of the academic help they can offer."
Up next for Mayo are two more trips to New Jersey, one for a 7-on-7 tournament and then for the NUC/Rivals.com Five-Star Showcase on March 12th. Mayo is already quite familiar with the 7-on-7 tournament, as he also participated last year.
"I'm hoping to go there and take first place again like we did last year," said Mayo. "I was the starting safety last year on Team Maryland."
With the remainder of his off-season, Mayo will continue to stay busy.
"I will mostly be training for the season with my trainer and doing defensive back training," said Mayo. "I'll also be attending some one day camps."
Mayo already has a few summer camps in mind.
"West Virginia, Miami, Georgia, Penn State and Rutgers, if they don't offer me," said Mayo, who is being recruited as a safety.
