Mayes claims five offers

The offers continue to roll in for three-star cornerback Grant Mayes out of West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep. The 6-foot-0, 178-pounder is now up to five scholarships including ones from the Big East and Big Ten.
"I'm up to five offers including Cincinnati, Illinois, Temple, Michigan State and Syracuse," he said. "Recruiting has really picked up and now I'm talking to more schools.

"West Virginia and Tennessee's coaches are reviewing my film and I'm waiting to see if they offer. I personally think if Tennessee offers it will take my recruiting to another level."
Mayes claims the Volunteers are definitely in the mix for his services if they offer.
"I really like Tennessee," he said. "I've been talking to coach Slade and the defensive backs coach. They really like my film. I'm just waiting for coach Fulmer to view it and then coach Slade said he'd give me an offer."
The No. 36 cornerback in the country is just about ready to wrap up his summer camp season.
"I plan to attend the extreme exposure camp," he said. "I'm also just working on bulking up in the weight room and improving my footwork and explosion even more."
