Mayden no longer has favorites

Oregon, Ohio State and TCU were the top three for Jared Mayden but the Sachse, Texas, standout said he has reopened his recruitment to all programs and no longer has any favorites.
"They're not out of the equation but I just opened it back up to give myself more opportunities to go see more schools," Mayden said last weekend at the Las Vegas Pylon 7v7.

The four-star cornerback is planning to visit Oregon on April 14 and then go to Alabama the following week to take a closer look at both programs.
The Crimson Tide piques Mayden's interest but backing off the top three, he said, has more to do with giving himself an opportunity to research more teams and not solely be focused on his three former favorites.
"When (Alabama) offered me I also got offered by Arizona State and some more places and I just felt the wise thing for me would be to just open up my recruiting a little bit and see some more places," Mayden said.
"It's not a reflection I don't like them but I just wanted more opportunities. I might get down to Mississippi State on the way to Alabama. I want to get to UCLA, too, but that might be an official."
Mississippi State could be a team to watch. The four-star prospect said he knows a bunch of coaches there pretty well including defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, who Mayden got to know during Diaz's days at Texas.
Rivals.com rates Mayden as the ninth-best cornerback and the No. 133 prospect in the 2016 class.
