Maybin schedules decision date

Ellicot City (Md.) Mt. Hebron defensive end Aaron Maybin will be concluding his recruitment on Monday at a press conference after school at 2:20 p.m. The 6-foot-3, 211-pounder with 4.64-second speed plans to make his decision between Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Maryland, North Carolina State and Florida.
"There are a lot of factors I consider going into this process," he said. "I'm looking at the environments that facilitate my mental and psychological development both as a player and a man. I'm also looking for great relationships with the coaching staff and an environment I feel at home with.

"I want a personal connection with the players, coaches and fans. Everything seems right at these schools and it's going to be a tough decision for me. I'm doing a lot of research and praying to make the right one. Right now, I'd say I'm about 90 or 95% sure about which school it is, but I won't be happy until I am 110% sure."
Many will suspect that Penn State is the leader for Maybin's services after an impressive unofficial there last weekend.
"People will suspect that since it was the last unofficial I took, but really the reason for us rushing up to make a decision came down to a lot of things including a lot of online speculation that we've had to rectify in recent weeks and I need to focus on my season and I feel I owe my teammates and coaches my undivided attention to help us with a playoff run," he said. "When I get home after a day of school and football, I eat and then I only have a certain amount of time to get schoolwork done. I take my schoolwork very seriously. After that, I'm answering phone calls until I go to sleep. It's a lot of strain. I would say Penn State is definitely a school high on my list, but my decision coinciding with the visit is just how it ended up being."
