Iowa State is still looking for a few more defensive backs in the Class of 2017 and one of the top prospects remaining on its board took an official visit to Ames over the weekend.

Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park standout senior Zamari Maxwell, who took an official visit to Iowa during the Cy-Hawk game weekend in September, said his stop at ISU was an eye-opening experience. Maxwell was hosted by defensive back D’Andre Payne, who clicked with Maxwell from the start of his visit on Friday.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Maxwell is a three-star recruit by Rivals and has a number of Power-5 offers including Arizona, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest. He’s also officially visited UCF.

For more on Maxwell's official visit to Iowa State and how his recruitment is going at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
