Maximum Exposure Inv. kicks off this weekend

Events associated with high school All-American games have traditionally been the starting points for the junior combine circuit, but the Adidas Maximum Exposure Invitational this weekend at Oakland (Mich.) University will kick off the combine season for class of 2012 recruits from the state of Michigan.
The event is expected to host a majority of the top 100 prospects in Michigan for the 2012 class - a group that is expected to be one of the state's best in the last decade.

"We're excited because this is one of the deeper classes we've had in the state of Michigan for awhile," event organizer Curtis Blackwell said. "This event is going to show how deep the class is because we're going to showcase not only the kids already known about, but some not already known about."
Among those planning to attend the Maximum Exposure event include Orchard Lake St. Mary's linebacker James Ross, Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Terry Richardson and Flint Powers Catholic defensive tackle Danny O'Brien - all of whom currently hold multiple BCS Conference offers.
Other prospects who are not as well known at this stage, but showed this fall that they are top Division 1 talents include Southfield defensive back Leviticus Payne, Madison Heights Madison receiver Tyree Monroe and University of Detroit Jesuit quarterback Brian Cleary.
"After the end of the football season, we feel this is a great time to catch back up with the kids and see who did what during the season," Blackwell said. "We'll use that to put them out there earlier and increase the length of the recruiting process for kids. December is the time to give the kids momentum so they can roll right into the spring."
The Maximum Exposure event will take place this Saturday, Dec. 11, starting at 4 p.m. It will feature combine and camp prep as well as individual and team competition.
"A lot of these kids are going down to the [All-American game] combines raw, so we want to get them some combine prep for the testing they will be seeing when they go down to these combines," Blackwell said. "After that we'll do some one-on-ones and a little 7-on-7."
The website for Saturday's event is maximumexposurefootball.com. It is an invitational, and registration will be conducted until the start of the event.
