Maupin comments on first trip

Getting a read on West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West defensive end Brandon Maupin isn't easy. The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder is a man of few words, but he did have a few comments on his first official visit.
"I like it at BC," said Maupin, who visited Boston College this past weekend. "I liked the atmosphere and the players there. The food was really good too."

Maupin, who could play defensive end or tackle in college, can see early playing time at BC if he wants it.
"They're losing a few defensive linemen this year and a bunch after next year as well," he said. "They also like to rotate in a lot of linemen. I probably wouldn't start, but I think I could play."
Maupin was hosted by linebacker Josh Ott on his trip and said that BC can compete with some of the bigger schools on his list.
"It's not very big which is cool and the academics are good," he said. "They also might get a bunch of Ohio players this year the way everyone was talking so I'll look at them until the end."
Maupin trips to Tennessee on Dec. 6, Pitt on Dec. 13 and then finishes up with Ohio State on Jan. 10.
"I don't have a favorite and I'm only looking at these four," he said. "I'll decide after all my trips."
