Mattes ready for Pitt visit

Offensive tackle Kurt Mattes is ready to visit Pittsburgh this weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it,” the 6-foot-6, 265-pounder said. “I'm still pretty open. I haven’t made any decisions, I’m still looking. I don't really plan on making a decision this weekend, but we'll see.”

Mattes took his first official visit to Northwestern in October, but said there is no leader right now. No other official visits have been set up.
He has had in-home visits from Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and Indiana.
A four-year starter at Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley West, his high school team recently completed a 9-2 season. Mattes is ranked as the No. 53 offensive tackle in the country. He also played defensive tackle in high school, but colleges have been talking to him about playing on the offensive line.
