Mattes looking at two conferences

Usually at this point in the recruiting season a prospect has narrowed things down to a few schools. But one of the top prospects in Pennsylvania is just looking at two conferences.
"Basically I'm looking at a number of schools from the Big East and the Big Ten," said Kurt Mattes. "There are a lot of schools in those two leagues I could see myself at, so it's just easier to list those two conferences. I've been impressed with coaches from a lot of the schools in those two leagues. Northwestern, Indiana, Pitt, UConn, Syracuse and some others.

"I've taken an unofficial visit to Northwestern, but I haven't set up any official visits yet. I probably will at some point, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm not sure where I'll go."
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound offensive/defensive tackle from Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley West is a 3-star prospect and is rated the No. 51 offensive tackle in the nation.
"I'm mainly looking for a chance to play in a good program with good coaches and get a quality education at the same time. I want a well-rounded college experience, and I'll end up wherever I feel like offers me that. I have offers from most of the schools I'm really interested in, so that won't be much of a problem."
Wyoming Valley West is 6-1 on the season, and while Mattes isn't sure of his own stats he feels like he's helped his stock with his play.
