Mattes comes up with two leaders

In conversations in the spring and early summer Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley West offensive lineman Kurt Mattes had talked about schools of interest without naming any leaders. That has now changed.
"I'd say I have around 10 offers now," Mattes said. "I'm interested in all of them."

"Pitt, Northwestern, Indiana, Connecticut, Syracuse, Akron, Vanderbilt, Virginia, those schools have offered me. And I'm looking at Michigan, Notre Dame, Maryland, and some others too."
"I went to Michigan's camp for a day. I enjoyed myself a lot. And I went to a bunch of other places like Connecticut, Maryland, Indiana, Northwestern, and Notre Dame."
"I don't have any official visits set. But I'm pretty sure I'll take visits to Pitt and Northwestern. Those two are at the top of my list."
"Northwestern is in the Big Ten and it's a great academic place. Pitt is close to home and it's another good academic place. I like the coaches at both places."
The 6-foot-6 and 265 pound Mattes has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. Mattes has played offensive tackle, tight end, and defensive tackle. He is the Rivals.com National Football Recruiting number 24 overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania.
