Mathews gives Ohio State visit high marks

Calling from his cell phone, Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers defensive end McKenzie Mathews said his official visit to Ohio State went very well as he prepared to get a good nights sleep before returning home.
"I'm still at the hotel (in Columbus) right now," Mathews said. "But basically my visit is done. I fly home around 5:00 on Monday morning."

Mathews attended the Ohio State-Michigan State game on Saturday and was hosted by Lawrence Wilson while on campus. How did the visit with the Buckeyes go?
"I liked it a lot," Mathews said. "I really liked the game day atmosphere. I liked the campus. It wasn't too spread out. It was nice.
"Football wise I like their defensive schemes. The schemes weren't working in the first half so they started twisting and it worked."
However after just one official visit it's not decision time yet for Mathews.
"I might make an official visit to Michigan when they play Ohio State," Mathews said. "Miami is the only other one I know I'll make.
"But I'm still looking at Syracuse, Penn State, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Pitt."
All of the schools Mathews is looking at have offered a scholarship with the exception of Miami.
