Matha names two leaders

When you are 6-foot-7 and 310-pounds, run well, and are a very good blocker, it is not surprising to hear many major college coaches have offered you a scholarship.
Such is the case with Erie (Pa.) McDowell offensive lineman Dan Matha. Matha has over a half dozen scholarship offers on the table.

"I'm getting a little closer to a decision (on a college)," Matha said. "But I don't know how close.
"I'm going to take a few more unofficial visits before I start narrowing it down to just a few schools."
Matha has already seen a number of colleges.
"I've visited Notre Dame, Pitt, West Virginia, and Penn State," Matha said. "I think that's it.
"I know this summer I'm going to see Michigan and Michigan State, and Virginia, and probably Marshall.
"I'm still looking at all those schools."
Matha has an impressive list of scholarship offers.
"I have a couple more now," he said. "West Virginia, Pitt, Maryland, Temple, Connecticut, Michigan State, Marshall, and Akron have offered. Marshall just offered last week. Right before that Michigan State and Akron offered on the same day."
Matha says some of the schools on his list stand out.
"My top five would probably be Pitt, West Virginia, Virginia, Marshall, and Michigan State," he said. "Pitt and West Virginia are my top two.
"There's a good possibility I could pick a school before the season starts. It depends on if I get a real good feel about one school."
