SDE Kenny Bigelow, Elkston (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy vs.
OT Kent Perkins, Dallas (Texas) Lake Highlands
---------
Bigelow is huge for a defensive end at 6-feet-3 and 322 pounds. He has a large and powerful lower body that enables him to use his strength to push around most opposing offensive linemen. He also uses his hands well and is relatively quick off the ball for a 300-plus-pound defender. The USCClick Why Bigelow has an edge: Here to view this Link. commit is also battle-tested at camps this spring and summer, having put on strong showings at VTO and Nike camps.
---------
Perkins is rated as the nation's No. 2 offensive tackle for a reason. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound TexasClick Why Perkins has an edge: Here to view this Link. commit has long arms that enable him to keep the defensive linemen away from his body. He also has a quick drop step in pass protection that helps him cut off the path of the defender to the quarterback. He is built like a prototypical college tackle already and he will be tough to get around.
---------
Overall edge:
While Perkins is a very good pass blocker, Bigelow's power will likely be tough to overcome. Bigelow has a significant size and strength advantage and has also been active in quite a few camps this offseason, so he will come in knowing exactly what to expect. It will be fun to watch the two go after each other but Bigelow has the edge on paper.
