Massive OL Seems To Have A Favorite

A powerful offensive line prospect from Richmond says he doesn’t have a favorite, but read between the lines.
“I wouldn’t say that I have a favorite or a list of favorites. I do have a list of schools that I’m looking at a lot,” said 6-foot-6, 310-pound Tony Lewis. “The schools are Virginia Tech, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, West Virginia and Hampton.”

Although Lewis says he doesn’t have a favorite, he speaks very highly of Virginia Tech.
“Virginia Tech sounds like a really nice place. I went to their summer camp and was impressed. They have a great program, good academics, great fans, and it’s close to home. I’m not sure I could say anyone is my leader right now, but they stand out to me.”
Last year at Richmond (Va.) High Springs, Lewis was named second team all-metro, and should be one of the top linemen in Virginia this year. If that happens, he should receive some offers.
“I don’t have any offers right now, but I think when I improve me speed a lot more teams will begin to take notice of me. I haven’t really taken any unofficial visits yet, so the coaches around here may not be too familiar with me yet. Once I visit some schools and take my officials then more schools will know me. I’m not sure where I’d like to take my officials.”
Lewis runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds, and is a very good run blocker. Does he have a timeframe in which he’d like to go about making his decision?
“I’m going to have to sit down and talk with my dad about that,” Lewis said. “I respect him a lot, and we’ll both make the decision.”
