Massive DT Now Has Three Leaders

Isaiah Thomas is considered one of the top defensive linemen in the state of North Carolina, which is saying quite a bit considering the talent he's being compared to. He also has a couple of new teams at the very top of his list.
"There are a lot of great linemen in the state this year," the enormous 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive tackle said. "I think I'm among the best of them. I'm not saying that to sound cocky, but I like to consider myself one of the top players in the country."

Thomas is doing absolutely nothing to make anyone question that right now. His team at Belews Creek (N.C.) Carver is 4-0 early in the season and through four games Thomas already has 30 tackles, seven sacks, and numerous tackles for loss.
"I've gotten a lot stronger," said Thomas. "I'm benching over 400 pounds right now, and it's probably closer to 410 or 415. I squat around 660 pounds."
College coaches know the numbers on Thomas don't lie. He has dozens of offers, and three schools have found themselves dead even for his services.
"North Carolina was my leader for a long time, and they're still one of my leaders definitely. I would say the other two would be Tennessee and NC State. State is recruiting me really hard. They're a team on the rise who could be really, really good in the future. I'm also going to take visits to Virginia Tech and maybe Georgia, but I'm not sure. I'd like to go to as many schools as possible so I know all my options."
The one part of his game Thomas says he'd like to work on a little is his speed. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds, but he may be even faster than that. He will likely be the quickest interior inemen on the field in every game he plays in this year.
"I'm going to play defense and some offensive line. I probably enjoy defense more, but you need tough guys on both sides of the ball. I'm not sure where I'll end up in college, but either way I'm going to be tough to stop."
