Massington makes his decision

A few weeks ago, Rivals250 wide receiver Eldridge Massington made a tough decision to de-commit from USC, but he knew it was one he had to make.

Tuesday night, the West Mesquite (Texas) standout made another.
"After looking at all the pros and cons and really sitting down and thinking to myself I feel UCLA is the best place for me to go," Massington said.
Because he planned to enroll for the spring semester, Massington knew he did not have a lot of time. So he did not waste any as he put together his options. Three teams quickly emerged at the top of his list in Alabama, Arizona State and UCLA.
All three programs received official visits from the 6-3, 205-pound receiver, and after much thought he decided the Bruins were his choice.
"It was close for all three," Massington said. "I love Alabama and I love Arizona State. I like them as much as UCLA, but I feel UCLA is the best route to go for me."
What was it about the Bruins that put them over the top?
"I feel like UCLA is a growing program and I feel like I can trust the coaches," Massington. "With their NFL background they'll help me to see what it takes to get to the league, and that's my No. 1 goal."
Initially Massington thought Saturday would be his decision day. He knew he had to make a decision quickly, but he also knew he was not ready. That is, until Tuesday.
"I said Saturday because I didn't want to go too long, and I really didn't have my gut feeling about where I needed to go," Massington said. "But something spoke to me today and made me feel like I need to go to UCLA."
With his decision out of the way, Massington now turns his attention to packing his bags. He will enroll at UCLA in the spring, and after not being able to play his senior season due to a knee injury, he cannot wait for spring football.
"I'm hungry. I can't explain the way I feel about getting back to the field and show everyone how much better I've gotten and how much I've learned," Massington said. "I can't wait to put it all out there on the field."
