Mason has big half against Colquitt County

Hutson Mason is a three-star quarterback prospect from Marietta, Georgia. This Lassiter High School standout had a big yesterday, as they took on a power Colquitt County from south Georgia. Mason had a big night but they had your typical opening nut mistakes.
"Well, first, we only got to play a half due to bad weather," Mason said. "We made some dumb mistakes that you usually do in the pre-season. Once we settled down we played well offensively and scored twice. We lost though 24-14."

Mason finished the two quarters 19 of 25 for 210 yards and two scores. He knows he could very well have a monster senior season, after throwing for 3,705 yards (70% completion percentage), 28 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions.
"We are going to be able to throw the ball. We have some real good, young receivers. It's a solid collective group taking over and we have some playmakers. There is more speed than last year. Hopefully I can put up better numbers than last season but teams will know what's coming. We just need to get better at pass pro. Those guys are good but just need more experience up front."
Mason says that Iowa and N.C. State are still his two leaders but others are still in the hunt. Soon he will set up his official visits.
"I have decided that I will take my official visits and then decide. I am not sure how many I plan on taking but maybe I will take all five.
"Iowa and N.C. State are my two favorites for sure. Absolutely. They are the two front runners and they are recruiting me the hardest. I will probably take all the visits during the season because I want to see what the game day experience will be like. No one is putting pressure on me to make a decision and they are fine with me taking visits.
"Some new teams are popping up like FSU and Memphis. I am hearing from UAB, Western Michigan, and Louisville is a newest school on me. They all want to watch me early this season and go from there."
Lassiter opens up with Sprayberry on August 28th.
