Masina to trim list

Osa Masina doesn't have a favorite or a cluster of frontrunners. He doesn't have a top 10. What the Rivals 100 linebacker does have, however, is a visit schedule and a plan.
And while he's not into setting exact dates for decisions, he doesn't mind providing an outline.

"I think I'm going to narrow the list down after these next visits," Masina said. "I'm going to narrow it down to 10 or maybe even five or six. That's my plan. I'll have five schools to take officials to for sure before my senior year. I haven't made any list yet.
Masina will head west starting this weekend. He plans to visit Arizona State, UCLA, USC, Stanford and California during the upcoming week. Those schools may not be his final unofficial visits, but they are the last ones on his current schedule. He reserves the right to change his mind, though, as new offers keep materializing.
Most recently, Masina pulled in an invite from TCU and he says he's yet to take the time top research the program.
"I don't know a whole lot about them, but I remember watching them play as a little kid," Masina said. "I'll learn more, but I don't know anything for now."
Masina, whose two brothers both decided to attend in-state Utah, says his family ties to the Utes won't be a major issue when it comes to his decision but also points out that Utah remains in the thick of his recruitment based on the program's merit.
In Masina's mind each school has its selling point. To him, there is no "most important" factor.
"I'm just kind of looking around and feeling out the schools," he said, There's not one particular thing I'm looking for.
Masina, who lists 19 offers in total, helped lead Salt Lake City Brighton High School to a 12-2 overall record last season.
