Maryland TE has a top five

Four-star tight end Devonte Campbell out of Forestville, Md. has a top five. The 6-foot-1, 234-pounder has yet to schedule any visits with the schools, but is getting closer to doing that.
"I haven't scheduled my visits yet since I'm going to go on them after the season in December and January," he stated. "I'd really like to try to get them all done in December if I can.

"Right now I'm down to Georgia Tech, Illinois, Syracuse and Tennessee. Maryland is still in there too. I mean consider my last official there, I'm just not sure. I did go to Maryland recently for a game and I liked the atmosphere there a lot. It was crazy and the stands were packed."
What in particular stands out about Campbell's finalists?
"Really the thing about them is that I've seen them play and I like their offenses," he said. "I think they'll be somewhere I can fit in at and contribute. I also feel they could use a big player like me."
The Rivals250 prospect has helped Forestville turn around their season with three straight victories.
"We were 3-3 midway through the season and since then we've won three straight and I had two big games," he said. "It's great because we're guaranteed to get in the playoffs and I think we're a championship team.
"It's been great to make plays for my team to win these games. Last week I had five catches for around 200 yards and two touchdowns and then this week I had three catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns. I can't take all the credit though as our whole team is playing excellent football."
