Salisbury (Md.) Wicomico offensive tackle Josh White made his decision. The 6-foot-4, 281-pounder selected the Temple Owls over offers from Duke, Delaware State and Towson.
"I committed to Temple yesterday and talked to all the coaches," he said. "Everything there was very excited and it was a big thing. They were just telling me the ins and outs of the program and what's going on when I get there."
What made White pick Temple in the end?
"I went there over the weekend on an unofficial visit and mostly that was for my mom to see the school," he said. "That added a lot because she was able to see Temple's campus and meet coach Golden. We sat in coach Golden's office and talked about the program and I think that really won my mom over.
"It's also just a good school. They have great cultural aspects there, will give me a chance to play early and I love the coaching staff. My mom loves the coaches and they are all great guys that recruited me better than every other school. They called me every other day to make sure and see how I'm doing."
Of course the 3.7 GPA student was also very impressed by the academic opportunities.
"I'm looking at going into computer technology and their center is terrific," he stated. "It was gorgeous and my mom and I were astonished by how up to date everything was."
The two-star prospect is looking forward to joining Al Golden's Owls.
"He is a great guy that is down-to-earth and has big plans for Temple University," he said. "I think they will all come through once he gets his senior class there and I want to be apart of that.
"I'm looking forward to going in there and making a difference. The coaches told me I probably won't redshirt and should see at least some time. I can say I've shown to be a leader in high school and I am going to try to help this team out to reach their goals too."
White plans to take an official to Temple in December.
