Maryland junior OL getting early looks

Carroll County (Md.) Francis Scott Key junior offensive lineman Daniel Bridges has the size and speed that college recruiters drool over. At 6-foot-5, he weighs 285 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds, and has the frame to add more weight. He bench presses 325 pounds and squats 400 pounds so he should continue to grow throughout his senior season.
A two-year starter, Bridges was recently named to the all-Carroll County, all-league and all-Baltimore Sun teams for his play as a junior. He is also a pitcher on the baseball team, just for fun.

“I am a team player, but I am really excitable on field,” Daniel said. “I never give up. I encourage players, and nothing gets to me. I have a good head.” He patterns his style of play after Jonathan Ogden of the Baltimore Ravens.
He is very interested in Penn State and Boston College, and these two schools have returned his interest. Columbia, Marshall, and Michigan have also been paying close attention to him.
“Education is the big thing,” Daniel commented on the things he is looking for in a school. “I also want small classes, so they can get my attention.” He camped at Penn State and Gettysburg over the summer and has attended games at Maryland and Duke.
An excellent student, Daniel boasts a 3.75 GPA and is scheduled to take the SAT in January.
