Maryland ATH stays home

Baltimore (Md.) Perry Hall athlete Dave Stinebaugh made his decision yesterday. The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder made a trip to Maryland and committed just before he left.
"I met with Coach Franklin, Pearman and Friedgen," he said. "They were excited that I made my decision to come there and can't wait to get me on campus."
Stinebaugh went into detail about his decision for the Terrapins.

"I think it was just the coaches and how down-to-earth they are," he said. "I'm not just going there to play football and for them to coach me. They treat you as their family, it's more than football there. It's about academics and being part of the family.
"I think all of the coaches were big. They are all down-to-earth people and won't tell you what you want to hear. They tell you what you need to hear. Plus, their recruiting class is probably one of the best out there right now. They are getting some of the best players and are rebuilding to get back on top of the ACC."
Although Maryland hasn't discussed playing time, they do know where they want the local prospect to play.
"They want me as an athlete, H-back and split out sometimes," he said. "As for playing time, it pretty much depends on how I come in and how fast I learn the offense once I get there."
