Maryland ATH likes the Huskies

Two-star, multi-skilled athlete Devin Finley (6-foot-2, 190-pounds) is in the process of narrowing choices and naming leaders. Rated No. 20 in the Rivals.com Maryland/D.C. Top 25, the Westlake, Md., native runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds, and plays running back, linebacker, and free safety. Four schools are currently jockeying for position to gain his services.
In the month of September, coaches from UConn, Marshall, Towson State, and Hofstra have all called, and although he liked all of them, one made a particularly good impression on him. Coach Rob Ambrose from UConn really stands out to him.

“He is a really good talker, and we had a pretty good time,” Finley explained. “He is flexible and talked about a lot of stuff, not just football.”
Devin lists all of the schools that called this month as his leaders, and claims offers from all four. Besides their interest in him, what else appeals to him about these schools?
UConn: “I just like the school, and it is a pretty good school. I need to learn more on my visit, because when I went there (to camp this summer), I didn’t get a chance to look at the campus.”
Marshall: “I haven’t been there at all, but I have talked to the coaches and I like them.”
Towson: “I like the area. It’s in an urban area, and it is close to home.”
Hofstra: “The same as Towson. It is near a city, and I don’t want to be too far away from everything.”
Hofstra is in the process of setting up a visit in December, but is the only school to mention anything about an official trip at this point. He is also working on a list of unofficials and said that Towson is a probability, due to its close proximity. He camped at UConn, Boston College, and NC State over the summer.
Finley recorded four tackles in the first game of the season, and also added 78 rushing yards on offense. He played strictly defense during the second game, and improved his tackle tally to eight solos. He will most likely continue to play defense exclusively for the rest of the season, due to his improved performance.
Devin is unsure of his GPA, but is close to making the necessary SAT score with an 820. He wants to stay in the sports field, and plans to major in communication or sports medicine to fulfil this dream.
