Martin looks like one of the elite national juniors

Prior to the NIKE Camp at Stanford, we talked about being anxious to see Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd linebacker Chris Martin. Martin did not disappoint and may have been the college prospect in the camp regardless of position.
Although only a sophomore, Martin, 6-4, 225 pounds was a man among boys at Stanford. He has a great frame and will continue to fill out before he's out of high school. He showed incredible range and length and covers a lot of ground on the field.

Martin has excellent top end speed and was running down the running backs and tight ends in the one on ones drills with ease. He even took some reps with the tight ends and looked like a natural there as well. Martin was called by many of the position coaches the best athlete on the field and is a sure fire top 100 player a year from now.
"I was a little banged up before the camp so I wasn't sure how well I would do," Martin said. "I just wanted to go out and give it my best and I thought I did well.
"I stayed mostly with the linebackers but I decided to take a few reps with the tight ends jsut for the heck of it and that was fun as well. I learned a lot from the coaches and I'm really glad I came out here. The competition was good and I'm looking forward to coming back next year."
On the recruiting front, Martin has offers from Stanford, Cal and Colorado and said those three are at the top of his list along with Michigan, Notre Dame and Oregon.
