D.J. Martin is hopeful a big senior season can land him more offers.
The Bakersfield (Calif.) Stockdale three-star running back is sure excited to get things started.
"I'm looking forward to it," Martin said.
"We've been working hard at practice and everything and things have been going great. This preseason has been going awesome so far. We have a new look and I like it so everything has been pretty OK so far. I can't complain about anything going into my senior year."
A new look? What's that all about? Martin won't give away any secrets.
"I can't really talk about it," Martin said. "Let's just say we have some tricks up our sleeves."
Putting up big numbers early on can certainly help Martin, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound recruit who looked good this summer at the B2G Elite Camp.
He's mainly been hearing from San Diego State, Oregon State and Arizona State and the Bakersfield Stockdale standout said Missouri has also recently reached out and shown new interest.
"They just hopped on the recruiting page," Martin said. "They've been sending a lot of letters and I think one of the letters said they're going to try to give me a call to see how things are going. I'm really looking forward to that.
"It would be an option. I can't say I'd go for sure, I'd have to check everything out first before I made my decision but I'm interested."
This weekend Martin is expected to take a visit to San Diego State. Other trips during the season are also expected.
In a shortened junior season, Martin rushed for about 900 yards and 11 touchdowns on 93 carries and he was also useful on special teams.
