Marshall or K-State for Filer

Clearwater (Fla.) Countryside three-star receiver Jermaine Filer was scheduled to visit Marshall this weekend, but there was a change in plans.
“I’m going next weekend,” Filer, who is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, said. “I was supposed to go to West Virginia, but I’ve not heard from those coaches in a long time, so I guess you can say they don’t want me anymore and Marshall will be it next weekend.”

Filer said at this point Kansas State and Marshall stand out above South Florida.
“Right now, my aunt wants me to leave the state,” Filer said. “I’m not saying that South Florida is a bad school or anything like that, but the people in the neighborhood are crazy and they really don’t like me or my cousin, so my aunt wants me to get away from home and go to a place like K-State or Marshall. So that’s what I’m thinking.”
Filer said even though Marshall beat Kansas State on the field this season, that won’t be a factor in his decision.
“I know the Marshall coaches keep talking about that game,” Filer said. “And that’s something that I’ve listened to, but K-State is in the Big 12 and won that game against Oklahoma. But I can tell you that it’s probably going be one of the other. I feel good about both schools. I want to go up to Marshall and see how they treat me.”
Filer said Kansas State coaches are due in his home again on Thursday. He wasn’t sure when Marshall was scheduled to be in again.
