Marshall grabs lead for Florida WR

A commitment from one of the Sunshine State's top receivers could be developing for Marshall.
"I just got back from my visit to Marshall," said three-star Clearwater (Fla.) Countryside wideout Jermaine Filer. "Everything went great. I liked the coaches and the players there. I feel like I fit in good, and they really want me.

"I have some more thinking to do about it, but if I sign on Wednesday, it will probably be Marshall."
Filer (6-4, 210, 4.4) is also considering Kansas State, but he said the Wildcats have asked him to take the prep school route. His academic status remains uncertain.
"Marshall has a program they can get me in," he said. "Right now, I'd rather do that."
He's also considering an offer from South Florida, but the Bulls haven't been able to surpass his top two.
Filer was offensive MVP in the South Florida All-Star game in December. He caught three passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns in that game. As a senior, he had 21 receptions for 533 yards and seven scores.
