Marrs has three favorites

The talent is there and Houston Jersey Village receiver Desmon Marrs is watching that ability turn into serious recruiting attention. The 2007 prospect is hearing from schools all around the Big 12 and beyond very early in the process.
While spending time running track, Marrs has been trying to find time to open several pieces of mail from colleges such as Missouri, Houston, Purdue, Iowa, SMU, Texas, Texas Tech, and TCU. Three of those schools have emerged as the favorite for the 6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect.

"Right now, it's between Texas, Texas Tech, and Missouri," Marrs said. "They show interest in me, first of all. Missouri is probably at the top because they're showing me the most attention."
Missouri will also be an early recipient of some visits from Marrs.
"I'm making a trip there pretty soon to one of their spring practices and to meet the coaches," Marrs said. "Then I want to go to their spring game too. I'm also going to visit SMU and I want to go to Houston for their junior day."
Last season, Marrs' Jersey Village team ended up with a 5-5 record. Even with great talent, the young wide receiver learned a lot about what it takes.
"We didn't do how we expected," Marrs said. "We had some people sign (scholarships), but the attitude wasn't there. This year, it's all about this season."
Marrs was a second-team all-district selection as a junior.
