Marriner talks offers, summer plans

Chesapeake (Va.) Western Branch running back Josh Marriner is up to three scholarships. The latest for Marriner comes from a BCS program.
"Everything is going really well," he said. "I received an offer from Temple recently. I have three offers, Temple, Old Dominion and Air Force."

Marriner is thrilled with the BCS scholarship from the Owls.
"I think it's a great offer actually," he said. "I got to see the campus before I got the offer and the coaching staff is great. I talked to at least four of the coaches and all of them are really cool. I like the direction the program is going in."
The 5-foot-9, 188-pounder is receiving looks from the likes of Connecticut, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke and Harvard.
"A lot of them, a majority of them have invited me to camps," he said. "Right now I have four camp dates set for sure. I know I'm going to West Virginia on June 10th, I'll be making it to North Carolina on June 14th, then to Virginia on the 23rd and Wake Forest on July 14th or 15th."
Marriner has visited a number of schools before, so is there any different things he's hoping to see on these trips?
"When I go visits most of the campuses I just want to see what they have as far as majors."
Marriner is impressing off the field too as he is currently third in the district in the 100 meter and has helped his 4x1 team to a No. 2 ranking in the state at this time.
