Marlbrough’s recruitment picking up

Beaumont (Texas) Westbrook defensive end Marcus Malbrough is starting to gain some traction in the recruiting game with his dominant play as a senior.
"I've had a great season so far and I feel like schools are getting close to offering me," he said. "I'm talking a lot to Missouri, Oklahoma State, Baylor and TCU. I don't have any official visits set up but I'll start setting them up after the season. Problem is that we will probably go pretty deep in the playoffs."

The 6-foot-6 defender currently holds offers from Houston, SMU and Tulane.
"I just feel like all of my offseason work and understanding of the game has come a long way since the spring," he said. "I just broke everything down this summer and have really improved my game."
Westbrook has only fallen to Westfield this season and is full of Division I talent. Defensive back Mike Williams is a Baylor verbal and running back Albert Williams also holds offers from Mississippi State, Kansas State and Tulane. Opposite side defensive end Blake Chavis has committed to Texas A&M and junior Christian Michael will be one of the state's top prospects in 2009.
"We have some great players here and we really perform in practice," he said. "We really get some good coaching here and they push us to get to the next level."
