Marcus Sales commits

Four-star wide receiver Marcus Sales decided to stay at home by making a decision earlier this week to commit to Syracuse. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder selected the Orangemen over offers from Virginia, Boston College, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina and Pittsburgh.
"I actually had a good idea I was going to commit to Syracuse before I went on my official to Pittsburgh," he said. "I told the coaches before, but it wasn't official until Tuesday night.

"They were all really happy for me and excited about the future. I'm really excited too. Coach Robinson told me we've got a chance to turn this thing around with this class."
A lot played into the decision for Sales to stay at home.
"I know a couple players up there, Lavar Lobdell and Darnell Pratt. They were with me through the whole process. They treated me like a little brother and always told me to do what I felt was best," he stated. "They also have good academics and are known for playing football.
"I'm not worried about their record. They've got to win. Greg Robinson is known for winning and I've got faith in coach. I felt very comfortable with the staff too."
Not to be forgotten, location was a big factor as well.
"That was a really big factor," he said. "I've got to get a lot of tickets for everybody who wants to see me. It's important for me to have family there.
"They are really happy with my decision too. They are happy I made the right decision."
The coaches believe Sales can make an impact as soon as he arrives for camp this summer.
"They are looking for me to come in and make an impact," he said. "They aren't going to force it on me if I'm not ready. But they have a new offensive coordinator and everything is wide open. I'm going in with the right attitude."
Sales gave a final thought.
"I know I made the right decision and won't regret it."
