Marchiol has UCLA high on list

Two weeks after adding UCLA to his lengthy offer sheet, fast-rising outside linebacker Santino Marchiol visited campus and received a personal tour from one of the nation's top collegiate players as the Bruins went all-in with their pitch.
"UCLA was an amazing experience," Marchiol said. "Myles Jack took me under his wing and showed me around the entire campus. To be shown attention from a coaching staff like that and from an athlete like him who is probably going to be a top 10 pick in the NFL Draft, it felt great.

"I loved the linebackers coach (Scott White) and coach (Jim) Mora. I loved Los Angeles."
California was the latest stop for the well-traveled prospect from Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek. Marchiol visited about two dozen programs the last few months and got a better understanding of the recruiting process while picking up offers along the way.
"It's been quite a ride, so UCLA was actually the last visit for a while," Marchiol said. "It was a great way to go out. I might go to some one-day camps later this summer, but seeing as many schools as I have really helped.
"I don't know if a decision will come soon. I want to make a decision with my family and be on the same page to make sure they like the school as well."
Aside from meeting Jack, the 6-foot-3, 223-pound Marchiol also got an in-depth look at White's plans for the 2017 recruiting class, particularly at linebacker.
"They actually told me I am No. 1 on their defensive board for 2017, and they hope to make me a high priority moving forward," Marchiol said. "That made me feel even better and I can't wait to get back at some point with my entire family so they can check it out.
"I don't have an order, but UCLA would be high on my list and a place I'm highly considering. I knew it was a great place just talking to Myles about how much he loved coach Scotty and how all the linebackers would run through a wall for him. He actually told coach (White) that I would fit in great. They have produced some great players like Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks recently that really makes you consider them."
Marchiol has also picked up offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Miami, Nebraska and Ohio State in recent weeks. He had 77 total tackles, two sacks and three interceptions as a sophomore last season.
