Just five days ago, wide receiver Henry Marchese was not quite sure what his college future held. That was before a long awaited scholarship offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes came in Thursday morning. Now, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Illinois native is going to follow in his father’s footsteps and play football at the University of Iowa.

"Iowa has everything to offer," said Marchese. "A good education, amazing atmosphere and great football. It's cool being able to follow in my dad's footsteps."

Marchese's father, John, played for the Hawkeyes in the mid 80's. The high school senior also has a twin brother, Michael Marchese, who is considering a preferred walk-on opportunity at Iowa.

In addition to Iowa, Marchese held scholarship offers from Army, Central Michigan, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio, and also received interest from Illinois, Penn State, Indiana, and Minnesota during the recruiting process.

Overall, it is commitment No. 15 for the Hawkeyes in the Class of 2017.

A two-star prospect, Marchese put up big numbers as a senior at Stevenson High School with 63 catches for 1,053 yards and 16 touchdowns.
