Marable awaiting more interest

Three-star safety William Marable holds two offers from Akron and Coastal Carolina. The 6-foot-0, 195-pounder is garnering interest from a variety of other schools. Who else is showing interest in the Charlotte (N.C.) North Carolina Tech prospect?
"Different schools are recruiting our whole program," he said. "Wisconsin, South Florida, Delaware, Richmond, Ball State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

"They all want senior film. That's hard to get right now until the end of the year. Schools are also waiting on my grades."
Marable has taken a few visits this fall including a trip to Temple with his team.
For the most part though, Marable will wait until after the season to address recruiting further.
"I really want a school to have confidence in me," he said. "A lot of schools have dropped off, I want someone to stick with me through that. I'm going to wait until Signing Day and our college day here. Recruiting is supposed to blow up then."
Marable isn't just trying to improve his grades; instead his goal is to graduate early.
"I'll probably finish out in December and I'd like to try to graduate at the semester and hopefully enroll early and qualify. If not, I'll have to either stay here or head back home and keep working there."
The No. 80 safety in the country has helped his team to an 8-1 record this season.
"We just lost to Maryland's JV team last weekend," he said. "The competition here is really different from high school, it's better. It's a 100 man roster and there is competition to get on the field.
"My playing time is sporadic. I was starting and now I'm not. I have had an interception return for at touchdown this year."
Has Marable seen an improvement by playing better competition?
"I'm improving my technique and moving my feet," he said. "I still want to work on my strength. I can't just push receivers around like in high school. Everyone here is stronger and they use technique more."
