Mapu changes mind and is now UW bound

What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours. Yesterday the Oregon Ducks thought they improved their team across the defensive front line today when defensive end Mike Mapu (6-4, 255, 4.75) from Mesa City College in Arizona committed to Mike Bellotti and the Ducks.
That was then and this is now. Today Mapu has made Husky fans everywhere happy when he thought about his commitment and ended up signing with Rick Neuhiesel and the Washington Huskies.

Mapu has a tremendous motor and he’s is always on the go non-stop when he’s between the lines.
Mapu is originally from Samoa and he attended Fagaitua high school in America Samoa. He signed out of high school with Fresno State, and then when it began to be clear that he would have to take a different route, he began his JC career at Eastern Arizona, but then enrolled at Mesa.
Mapu had over 15 sacks as a sophomore. He will have 2x2 of eligibility.
Washington wins the services of this talented defensive end over Cal, Oregon State and the very disappointed Oregon Ducks.
Mapu visited and had offers from all four schools.
Great get for the Dawgs.
