Many offers for Midwest QB

"Schools that have offered me are Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan, Colorado, UCLA, and LSU," quarterback Clayton Richard said. "I'm looking at all of them."
"And Tennessee's been in there. They're a great football school."

"But really nobody stands out as the leader. I hope to play football in college and minor league baseball."
Richard, 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, has run the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. During his junior season Richard completed 126 of 227 passes (56%) for Lafayette (Ind.) McCutcheon. He threw for 2420 yards with 20 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
For his career Richard has passed for 7800 yards and 65 touchdowns going into his senior season. He has a 4.0 GPA and scored a 1340 on the SAT.
Richard is also a standout pitcher in baseball with a 92 mph fastball. He had an 8-0 record during his junior season and may be selected high in the 2003 major league baseball draft.
