Manson popular name in Alabama

The last name Manson at Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest is enough to make recruiting fans and college coaches excited and it’s not just because of one player – it’s because of two. Along with blue-chip running back recruit, Markus Manson, inside linebacker Jebron Manson has worked his way into solid Division I material status and he has the offers to prove it.
“Marcus is the best player that I’ve seen, and I face him every day,” Jebron Manson, who is 5-foot-10, 220 pounds, said about his brother. “I get after him in practice and that makes me a better player.”

A better player with scholarship offers already on the table from Michigan State, Oregon State and Jacksonville State. However, he lists his top six college choices as Michigan State, Oregon State, Auburn, Southern Miss, Alabama and Ole Miss – all of which called him back in May.
“I grew up an Alabama fan and my mom attended Alabama,” Manson said. “But I’m now going to be looking for a team that has a good academic program and a great football program.”
Jebron growing up an Alabama fan and listing teams like Michigan State and Oregon State high on his list is quite interesting since Markus has told reporters for the last few weeks that he’s a 90 percent lean to Auburn.
But after a season of 93 tackles, six pass breakups and five tackles for a loss it looks like Jebron is looking to do his own thing.
“I like to run and make plays,” he said. “I feel comfortable on the outside. I love to run down plays from the backside. I just love contact.”
