Mammoth OL has local leader

West Bakersfield (Calif.) offensive lineman David Born is one of the biggest and best players at his position in the state. He has been on our radar since his sophomore season and projects as a very solid Div I prospect.
Born, 6-9, 330 pounds might be the biggest lineman in the West this year. He has a huge frame and giant wingspan and is able to basically smother would be defensive lineman he goes up against.

Born earned HM all-state underclass honors as a sophomore and was one of the top underclassmen we saw at the SoCal NIKE Camp a year ago. As a junior, the lineman earned all-league, all-area and 1st team all-state underclass honors and will be one to watch closely this Spring.
On the recruiting front, Born picked up his first offer from Colorado State prior to his junior season and is hearing from a handful of schools at this time.
"UCLA, Cal, LSU, Notre Dame, Washington and Oregon are the main schools I'm hearing from right now," Born said. "I've been a UCLA fan since I was a little and they're still my top school right now.
"I also like Cal, USC, Oregon and Fresno State, that would be my top five right now. Right now, I'm working out hard getting ready for the Spring and summer. I'm going to the NIKE Camp at USC again but I'm not sure about the rest of my camp plans."
