Mammoth lineman schedules first official

Playing in the same county as heavyweights Antonio Logan-El and Phillip Taylor, 6-foot-6, 385-pound lineman Charles Smith out of Springdale (Md.) Charles H. Flowers is bigger than both of them. The lineman prospect isn't getting as much interest, but he has scheduled his first official visit. Who will he be taking the official visit to and what does he like about the school?
"I set up my first official visit with Virginia on December 9th," he said. "I like the school a lot and the coaches. I like the opportunity to play in that offense and I really like their offensive coordinator he reminds me a lot of my coach.

"Virginia hasn't offered me, but they want a transcript and a little more senior footage. I think they are pretty close to offering."
Two other schools are standing out to Smith for other official visits.
"I'm most likely going to take two other ones to Rutgers and Marshall," he said. "I think Marshall is close to offering too and I like that they are a program on the rise. I grew up watching them a lot.
"Rutgers is having a really good season. I believe they are 6-2 or something right now and they are the school that has shown the most interest in me and they've offered. I really enjoyed myself at camp when I was up there last summer."
What does the two-star prospect hope to see out of the visits?
"There isn't really anything in particular I want to see," he said. "I just am interested in the offense and what position they'll have me play and what the school has to offer. Most schools are projecting me as an offensive lineman, but it depends what size and weight I report in at. Most likely I'll be on the offensive line."
The enormous lineman prospect has helped Flowers to an 8-1 record this season.
"I'm actually playing defensive tackle and end and trying a lot of new stuff," he said. "This season I've got 26 tackles, nine assists and two sacks. I'm pretty happy with how I've done. I can tell I've gotten a lot better and I'm moving better."
