Mama lands major offers

Damien Mama had an outstanding performance at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp last weekend and in the days following it the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive guard picked up two tremendous offers.
UCLA was the first to offer the 6-foot-5, 360-pound four-star prospect and Tuesday morning USC followed up with an offer as well.

Mama said he woke up Tuesday with a flurry of messages to call the USC coaching staff so he did and the offer came through.
"I've always been keeping in contact with them," Mama said. "I woke up this morning and my phone blew up. The coaches said when you're awake give us a call because we have great news.
"I called coach (Ed) Orgeron and I talked to him and he handed the phone to coach (Lane) Kiffin and he gave me the offer. It's pretty big. I'm very excited about getting that one. It's huge."
UCLA is also a major one for Mama, who has picked up many big-time offers recently including Alabama, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
He said the Bruins have been involved throughout his recruitment and that having offers from both Pac-12 local schools is tremendous.
"I've been talking to them, too," Mama said of UCLA. "Both of them said me competing this weekend was what made them offer. That's why they both offered so early. I have both Southern California options now."
Mama's recruitment has taken off in recent weeks.
In total, the four-star has offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Nevada, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
With so many programs involved, Mama said he's not picking leaders just yet.
"I'm not really picking favorites right now," Mama said. "A commitment, I don't think so right now."
