Malone closing in on offers

Wide receiver Brady Malone of Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga continues to hold a few FCS offers, but after several very successful summer camp stops he may be in line to add a couple of BCS offers to his total.
"Recruiting is going well as of now," said Malone, who is 6-foot-3 and 195-pounds. "I'm getting a lot of interest from Virginia Tech, Miami, Vandy and Wake, and I've got Ivy League and 1-AA offers. I'm behind one wide receiver at both Virginia Tech and Miami."

Offers are currently on the table from Towson, Cornell, Princeton and Monmouth, but he believes that the Hokies, Hurricanes and also Maryland are close to joining this list. This is mostly due to very successful camp stops at each of these three schools.
"I got the MVP at Miami's one-day camp and I did very well at Virginia Tech and Maryland," he said.
Each of these three schools have discussed a possible offer with Malone.
"After Virginia Tech's camp I met with Coach Beamer in his office and he wants me to be a part of the team," said Malone. "As of that day the scholarships were tight so he was planning on connecting with me at the end of the summer and we'd go from there. I also met with the Miami coaches after their camp and they are waiting on Jordan Cunningham to commit somewhere."
His contact with Maryland has been more through his high school coach.
"My coach said he's expecting them to offer soon based on my camp performance," said Malone. "He keeps in touch with their coaches."
After finishing with 32 receptions for 468 yards and six touchdowns during his junior season, Malone is looking for more this fall.
"My team went to the ship last year and lost to Good Counsel," said Malone. "Hopefully this year we can bring home the championship. I've worked on improving my speed this off-season. I've spent a lot of time getting faster."
