Malin hard to miss

Cibolo (Texas) Steele 2014 defensive end Josh Malin is a big presence in the trenches for coach Mike Jinks' Steele Knights. At 6-6, 240 pounds, Malin has an impressive wing span, and packs a powerful punch.
It did not take long for his size and strength to be noticed by college coaches. He has yet to receive his first college offer, but he does have several showing interest.

"Right now some of the schools I'm hearing from are Baylor, LSU, UTSA, Boise State, and Northwestern," Malin said.
The recruiting process is in the beginning stages for Malin, and it is too early for favorites, but he did grow up cheering for one school in particular.
"I've always liked Texas," Malin said. "Just the smash mouth defense, the whole atmosphere, the stadium."
The defensive standout has grown even more familiar with Texas and several others over the past couple of summers as he hit the camp circuit each of the past two years.
"I've gone to camps last year and this year," Malin said. "I attended the Texas camp, the Baylor camp, UTSA, and Texas State."
College is still a few years away, but Malin knows it is coming fast. He may not know exactly where he wants to go, but he does know what he is looking for in a future college home.
"I want the best education I can get," Malin said. "That will help me in the long run if football doesn't work out."
