Maka close to narrowing list

Three-star linebacker Pookie Maka has been focusing on his senior season after transferring to a new school earlier this year, but he appears close to shifting his attention to recruiting.
The first step for the 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect from Murray (Utah) Cottonwood is to cut his list in half and start comparing the finalists.

There are four Pac-12 schools that seem to be in great shape to stay in contention later this week when Maka releases his top schools.

IN HIS WORDS: "Well, I have watched all of my top schools play and I love the way these teams are coached and how they have reacted to certain situations," Maka told Rivals.com. "I'm starting my official visits in December. I'm still trying to finalize my top five so I make sure it's the right one.
"I have four schools that have really been standing out and recruiting me hard -- Utah, Colorado, Arizona State and Washington State. BYU, Wisconsin and Missouri are all right there, too."
WHAT'S NEXT?: Maka said he would most likely schedule official visits with his finalists in the next couple weeks. Cottonwood's final regular season game is Thursday and Maka intends to release his five schools at some point on Saturday before concentrating on where he'll call home at the next level.
