Major sorts through 20 schools

Just a few weeks ago, it was five-star linebacker Arthur Brown that reduced his list to around 20 schools.
This time around it's four-star, Rivals100 linebacker Jon Major of Parker (Colo.) Ponderosa that has officially decided to cut some schools from his list.

"I have received several additional verbal offers from coaches over the past few weeks," Major, who is ranked as the No. 83 player in the nation and the No. 6 inside linebacker in the nation. "My total offers are now around 50. I have about 20 schools that are my top ones at this point."
For the record, Major lists Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, TCU, Texas, UCLA, USC, Virginia, and Wisconsin in that top 20.
Major, who is 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, said he has a plan to further reduce that list pretty soon.
"I will cut to 10 schools by early July," he said. "Oklahoma, Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan and Oregon are already in my top 10. By early August, I hope to cut to a final list of five or less schools."
In 2006, Major had 107 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, six pass breakups and four fumble recoveries.
Major was first-team all-conference and second-team all-state as a junior in 2006. He was also named all-conference as a sophomore. In 2005, he had 109 tackles and five tackles for a loss.
