It's game day for many high schools across the country and it looks like Jonathan Kingsley will finally be able to resume his football career at Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances as a senior.
Last fall Kingsley, a Nigeria immigrant, played for Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance as a freshman and started picking up scholarship offers. About a year ago it was discovered that Kingsley was originally enrolled in the Alamance-Burlington School System on the basis of fraudulent documents which were produced by two individuals that have been charged with felony common law obstruction of justice and obtaining property by false pretense.
Eastern Alamance had to forfeit its wins from last season and Kingsley had to find a new school that could help him get back on his feet. St. Frances took him in and worked through the legal issues to make sure Kinglsey was set up to succeed in life. Now Kingsley is classified as a senior with the proper high school credits and, per a source, will play in St. Frances' game tonight against Rock Hill (S.C.) South Point.
While at Eastern Alamance, Kingsley amasses an impressive offer sheet that included Florida State, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others.
Syracuse, in particular, has been in contact with the St. Frances coaching staff and made it clear that it is ready to help Kingsley work through and distance himself from the issues that forced him to leave Eastern Alamance.
