Major programs coming after 2019 DB Anthony Harris

Havelock, N.C. has turned out some big time prospects over the years and the next one could be 2019 defensive back Anthony Harris.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"Florida State and Tennessee are some of my most recent offers," Harris said. "The Florida State defense is tremendous. I like how they work. I'd love to take a visit there.

"I don't know much about Tennessee," he said. "I'll try to learn more about them soon.

"South Carolina and N.C. State are also some great offers for me," said Harris. "The coaches at N.C. State are really good. I had a good talk with the coaches when I visited there a few weeks ago. That's a really serious defense. My experience visiting was good. It was kind of what I was looking for.

"The South Carolina coaches were talking to me about how my cousin, Corey Robinson, and Pharoh Cooper went there," he said. "They want to use me as a safety or a nickel cornerback.

"Virginia Tech has been showing a lot of interest," Harris said. "Their players are huge and the defense is crazy. The coaches are good and they've been talking to me about how they want to come down and see us."

RIVALS' REACTION…

Harris has the look of a national recruit with the way he flies to the ball carrier and patrols the secondary. South Carolina and N.C. State are in great position right now and both have a history of recruiting Havelock players well. We'll see how many more school jump in on Harris but there will likely be many more. Florida State defensive assistant coach Brad Lawing was the head coach at Havelock many years ago and he will more than likely stay involved in Harris' recruitment.
