Major planning visits

With offers from just about every top program on his wish list, Parker (Colo.) Ponderosa linebacker Jon Major is in the process of whittling down his list and scheduling several unofficial visits that will help him get to a solid five to seven schools by the end of the evaluation period.
Major, 6-4, 230 pounds is one of the nations top inside linebacker prospects and after watching his film, it's easy to see why. Major is an explosive hitter with great hips and instincts.

He loves contact, pursues the ball very well and is a great tackler. When you combine his size, toughness and natural feel for the game, it's easy to project Major as someone who could have an early impact for the college he chooses.
On the recruiting front, Major has offers from schools all over the country. Schools as far west as UCLA and Oregon, as far South as Florida State, Tennessee and LSU, Big 12 powers like Nebraska and Oklahoma and Big 10 heavyweight programs like Penn State, Michigan and Wisconsin have all put offers on the table.
"Virginia and TCU are the two most recent offers," Major said. "As for taking some unofficial visits, I'm going to check out Texas May 11 and Michigan later this month as well.
"I have tentative plans to visit two or three schools in June and two in July including USC. My goal is by August 1 to have a final list of five or schools to choose from.
"I definitely have a few favorites right now, but I am learning new things about schools and getting new opportunities every week. I want to make sure I see the whole picture before I start dropping schools from consideration."
We'll have a chance to check out Major at the NIKE Camp in Colorado June 2.
